Our current team and curriculum is very strong from second grade up, however we want to strengthen our offerings to very young learners. The person we hire for this position will be our main teacher for very young learners. This can lead to more responsibility and compensation if excellence is demonstrated in this role.
2. School Background
We opened as a family run school in June 2022 with a unique, literacy-based curriculum and a warm, creative, collaborative learning environment. Due to exceptional success, we moved into purpose built premises in March 2024. We are a small school and intend to stay that way; we currently have 4 classrooms total and a large library. Despite being new, we are already very financially stable and enjoying great success with student numbers increasing by the week. We are currently at around 80% capacity with many classes having a waiting list.
3. Teaching & Learning Culture
Our school provides low stress, enjoyable, creative English language lessons that maintain academic rigour and high student achievement while encouraging teamwork and friendship over competition.
We prioritise reading over memorising vocabulary, collaboration over competition, tasks over tests, projects over closed grammar, critical thinking over multiple choice. We treat and teach students how we would want our own children to be treated and taught -with warmth, care, and kindness.
4. Teaching Expectations
This is not a 'teach page 23' type of job. The materials we use are high quality and effective, but they are a guide. We supplement materials with projects, crafts, mini-presentations, etc. and expect teachers to be creative in their lesson planning. We support teachers with this, but are looking for someone really interested in the teaching and the development of materials. We have a non-rigid curriculum and expect teachers to personalise the curriculum we have. We have high teaching and working expectations and require teachers to take ownership of their students' learning.
Our academy process is quite different. The native English speaking teachers are the main teachers. There is no Korean co-teacher, so 100% of students' classes are with native speaking English teachers. The Korean centre manager deals with all direct communication with parents while teachers fill in monthly reports about each child.
5. Working Culture
The owners have been involved in English language education at very high levels since 2009. We are a young school, and so flexibility will be essential. We believe that in order to maintain the warm, friendly, happy atmosphere in our school, teachers must be happy as well.
When our students arrive at our school, they run in smiling and ready to learn. This atmosphere has to be maintained. Staff are treated with warmth, kindness, and respect and we ask teachers to treat the students, parents, colleagues and work place the same way. We are trying our absolute hardest to break the stereotypical learning and working experience of Korean academies.
6. Next Steps
As long as this job advert is up the job is still available. We are focused on finding only the best quality teachers.
Successful applicants will be invited to either a video interview if outside of Korea or in person interview if inside Korea (expenses will be covered by us).
You will also be given contact details of at least one of our current teachers to discuss the role.

Please mention that you found the job on Teast for the school's reference.
You need to be from one of the following countries to teach English in South Korea: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. If you’re not from one of those, you can still teach in most other countries. This rule is specific to South Korea’s visa issuance.
Schools receive many applications and may not reply to everyone. If you don’t hear back within a week, move on to the next job.
Never pay to apply. Never pay to “buy something now and get reimbursed later.” Always verify you’re speaking with the actual school (not an impostor). Scams do exist—be careful.
