Come Work With us, Not For us! After School English Teaching Position. Direct Hire, Starting Salary 2.6 Million Korean Won And up, Based on Degree And Experience.

Toronto English
Incheon, South Korea
Hello, My name is Trevor and I am the co-owner and head teacher at Toronto English. I am looking to hire an individual who has experience and enjoys working with elementary aged kids.  My school’s philosophy is “Simple, Happy, English” and we strive to make our students feel safe and comfortable in our classrooms.  Our goal is to provide young learners with a fun, stress free, English environment that fosters a long term interest in English learning.

The curriculum is all prepared and in place.  The prep work is minimal and I rather teachers focus their prep time on how they will teach lessons rather than making supplemental materials for the curriculum.

Students attend classes 5 days a week.  We cap class sizes at 6 to 7 students per class.  Monday to Thursday lessons are taught and Friday is a fun activity day.  On activity days, students participate in an activity planned by us teachers that is related to weekly themes.

A bit about me and my academy.  I am a fully licenced elementary school teacher from Toronto, Canada.  My wife and I run our after school English language academy on Yeongjong Island, lncheon (The same island where the Incheon International Airport is located).  There are three Native English teachers currently here and we are looking to add a fourth.  My academy is located in a new city on Yeongjong Island that is rapidly growing and expanding.  We are located an hour away from central Seoul and you can access Seoul using public transportation.

Some small bonuses: Housing is located in a newly constructed building and the apartment is semi-furnished.  It is a 10 minute walk from the school to the apartment and grocery stores, cafes and restaurants.  It is also a 10 minute walk to the seaside and a massive seaside park.  The island is popular for collecting shell fish, biking and hiking.  A swimming beach is located on the other side of the island and can be reached by local bus or a bike path.  Small town life with modern amenities and easy access to Seoul and surrounding area.

Please mention that you found the job on Teast for the school's reference.

You need to be from one of the following countries to teach English in South Korea: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. If you’re not from one of those, you can still teach in most other countries. This rule is specific to South Korea’s visa issuance.
Schools receive many applications and may not reply to everyone. If you don’t hear back within a week, move on to the next job.
Never pay to apply. Never pay to “buy something now and get reimbursed later.” Always verify you’re speaking with the actual school (not an impostor). Scams do exist—be careful.
