International Academy of Business & Technology (IABT), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is recruiting native-English-speaking teachers and teaching interns for our Summer School Programme, with positions commencing in June and July 2026.
We are seeking energetic, professional, and versatile candidates who are comfortable supporting English language learning for children, teenagers, young adults, and adult learners across a range of proficiency levels.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers, recent graduates, and current students seeking practical teaching experience in an international environment, with the possibility of longer-term opportunities for suitable candidates.
Role Responsibilities
Successful candidates may be involved in:
Delivering or supporting engaging English language lessons
Teaching or assisting with:
Speaking
Listening
Vocabulary development
Reading
Writing
Foundational grammar
Creating a positive, structured, and energetic classroom environment
Supporting student confidence and communication development
Lesson preparation and academic planning
Student assessment and feedback
Placement discussions where required
Supporting a multicultural summer school environment
Teachers and interns may be assigned across:
Young learner programmes
Teen programmes
Young adult communication classes
Adult ESL programmes
We Are Looking For:
Teachers
Applicants should:
Be native English speakers (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand)
Hold a Bachelor’s degree
Have ESL teaching experience with one or more age groups
Be confident teaching grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening
Be able to deliver structured lessons, not conversation-only sessions
Be adaptable, reliable, energetic, and culturally sensitive
Teaching Interns
Suitable for:
Recent graduates or current university students seeking practical teaching experience
Candidates interested in education, ESL, linguistics, English, communication, or related fields
Individuals with strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Those willing to support lead teachers and assist with classroom activities
Preferred (but not essential)
CELTA / TESOL / TEFL qualification
Summer school / camp / immersion programme experience
Experience teaching in language centres, international schools, or ESL programmes
IELTS / Cambridge / exam preparation experience
Previous experience teaching in Asia
Important
This role is not suitable for candidates seeking:
purely online teaching positions
freelance hourly tutoring only
conversation-only teaching roles with minimal structured teaching
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a brief teaching diagnostic and a live classroom-style teaching discussion as part of the interview process.
Package
Remuneration from RM4,700 to RM6,500 per month, depending on experience, role, and teaching scope
Shared accommodation provided
On-site role in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Positions commencing in June and July 2026
