Oak Meadow International School in Phuket, Thailand, is urgently seeking a dedicated and visionary Director of Studies to lead our academic programs. This leadership role involves strategic planning, curriculum expertise, and a passion for teacher and student development.
Position: Director of Studies
Department: Academic Leadership Team
Reports to: School Director
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the curriculum and teaching standards from Kindergarten to High School.
- Supervise and support teachers in planning, assessment, and classroom practice to ensure high-quality instruction.
- Lead curriculum alignment with international standards, such as American Common Core, NGSS, and 21st-century skills.
- Coordinate professional development programs, mentoring, and teacher evaluations.
- Analyze student performance data to guide academic improvement and targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with department heads, principals, and the school management team to enhance academic outcomes.
- Promote innovation, creativity, and active learning in all academic programs.
- Oversee internal and external assessments, ensuring consistency and fairness in evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Native English speaker.
- Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, or Curriculum Development.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years in academic leadership or coordination roles, preferably in an international school.
- Strong knowledge of international curricula and effective instructional practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teaching teams.
- Proven experience in teacher coaching, curriculum design, and academic quality assurance.
- Fluent in English.
